Maldives police defended their move to stop presidential elections that were supposed to take place here on Saturday, insisting that a vote would have been “unlawful” and could have sparked “national instability.”

Maldives democratic party’s Presidential candidate Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) has come out on the roads as usual protesting against the President of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik, and the Maldives police service who stopped the election, On the roads supporters of MDP keep calling and for a election, It’s the second delay of the Maldives presidential election.
